So far, upon re-reading the former plot discussion thread, there isn't a clear goal or solid plot to follow. Since we are still at the beginning of our story, we have time to figure this out. Especially since nothing terribly plotty has happened yet.
Just to recap, here are some elements of our story that we have agreed upon so far.
- Two Schools, both top schools and very competitive academically, are located on the same island. One school specializes in Science and Technology (a sci-fi school) and the other teaches magic (like hogwarts.)
- Omega Technology Insititute has run low on funds is forced to cooperate with the Institute of Magical Arts. So some classes will now be mixed.
- The school Omega Tech is still owned and over-seen by the demonic Omega Family. The school currently belongs to Daixx Omega (DD). We know he's up to no good.
- Each School has specialized "elite" students that each school pours resources and funding into. So basically, each school has a private army.
- Although the merger happened, the schools continue to compete for resources. There is some animosity between students.
- Administration have some hidden scheme up their sleeves too.
What I'd like to see here are ideas for the plot. We need a goal or a point for the characters to acheive. Discovering and Undoing Daixx's schemes might be one of them. Suggest events, situations, or goals that our characters can move towards. Otherwise we will just have 12 storylines for each artists characters instead of one basic one.
Also, this is a chance for you to voice what you want your character to do, who you want them to relate to or think they would relate to well. So far, the following relations have been established. >>Aelmon and Starburst are now friends. >>Sylphi and Joy are roomates. Basically what I'm looking for is a reason WHY your particular character is at school. And WHAT they do typically at school. If you want you can make up what they have already acheived at school. (especially if your character is older ergo been there longer).
As an example: Angelo is studying medicine at OTI in hopes to become a doctor. (Why). The school supports him finacially because he is "of need" and remarkably talented at what he does. He is required by the school to take not only biology courses, but metalogy and weapon shop and two P.E. courses. He takes wrestling and survivalist courses. Angelo specializes in surgery and basic internal needs. Anyone gets sick or injured or even has heart failure, Gelo can help. Unfortunately, Angelo feels that the OTI method is too cold and unfeeling. He's a people person, honestly wanting to become a doctor to help people regardless of race or creed. (Basically, he's a healer. Angelo pretty much carries his medicine cabnet in his pockets. XD) (WHAT)
Example 2: Marron is attending to earn another degree in Healing Arts. (She has one in history already). (Why.) She lives on campus with her hubby who is studying Business and the Art of weaving to improve his tailoring business. She is a part of several study groups and trys to spend more of her time with female friends than with her husband. She also tutors her husband in some of his classes. (What) Please post to this thread to help future artists properly portray your character and get a goal to focus on.

Tyde is attending school for the purpose of bettering his combat skills and over all arsenal,as well as because his momma wanted him to.
Tyde 's mother gives demonstrations to the school to lower the cost while Tyde competes in water battles and other tournaments to pay the rest of his way. Tyde dabbles in courses on water magic and reverse healing while his focus for study seems to lie in summoning and combat techniques.
Silf returned to the schools and became a faculty member and has been with the school a number of years.
She lives on campus and keeps an eye on the students. She is a formidable force to deal with but she seems to be on the students side. She wants the students to be safe and happy.
- I don't know ...but since Silf is faculty but on the student's side she might help reveal something to the students. She is good at manipulating minds so perhaps she can siphon important info from the administration and 'accidentally' let it slip into the student body. She's also there to safe gaurd the students so she'll probably pick up on odd behavior among students.

Who: Sylphi Valentine
Why: The Valentine clan is a rather large brood, so Sylphi had 6 other siblings, all of whom were boys. She's the youngest, and because she was the only girl, she was rather spoiled (ie. not beat up by her other siblings). Unfortunately, this made her feel rather left out and she was constantly trying to best her brothers. She entered the IMA because all her brothers passed through the school at one point or another. Sylphi hopes to do what none of her brothers were able to do ... become class valedictorian. Supposedly the top students at the school achieve great things ... What: As a Paladin, Sylphi is both a fighter and a healer. She's neglected her abilities as a healer, so she only heals with great difficulty. She's an expert marksman and has relied on this skill to get ahead. Unfortunately, she knows that she needs to focus on her healing abilities if she ever hopes to succeed as a Paladin, but she hides her frustration as being a poor healer in a lot of bravado.
Character Arc: Sylphi likely isn't going to become class valedictorian any time soon, because she lacks focus. Though I suppose if she had help (ie. cheated) she'd do well XD
Who: Daixx Omega
Why: Daixx inherited the OTI from his grandfather, an old and wise and kind demon. He disappeared a while ago.
What: Head of some sort of conspiracy. Likely trying to create an army out of the students (unbeknownst to them of course). For what purpose remains unknown.
Who: Taikae Omega
Why: Taikae is Daixx's brother. He was the head of the IMA, but he also disappeared a while ago. Whether or not he inherited the school from his grandfather is up to much debate. Some say he was so angry that Daixx was given the IMA that he took the office as IMA Director by force.
What: Nothing right now. No one knows where he is.

Miria goes to the magic school because her father's brother's uncle's sister's cousin's mother's brother pays for her to go... but everyone knows that's because he doesn't feel threatened by her at all as a successor to the head of the family (even though he's only 64th in line).
She's learning more about water magic (her family gift) and wants to join the fencing team (if it exists). Her... relative also wants her to learn something about ninja arts (transformation, clone, the smokescreen thing... let's just say he found some very old recordings that we in this world call "Naruto") so that when he takes over as head of the family (they all know it's never going to happen, but he seems convinced...) she can be his bodyguard, like her father was her great-grandfather's bodyguard... or something like that.

azzy: I really like the Ms. Silf character. She can definitely be usful in revealing plot points to help the students. In her bio, it looks like she was a painful experiment of sorts. Poor lady siren.
bb: I thought Daixx was head of Omega...o.O Is he currently head of both?? >_>

You're probably right. I forgot Dai was supposed to be more techy. I'll switch that around. I was saying he was the head of OTI when I was thinking he was head of IMA. Or something. My brain has to percolate this story some more.

So is this a high school, or a boarding school that goes a little past high school? Either way, Aelmon's a 4th-year student [Senior], and well on his way to graduate. His sister, Seras, made him go just to get him out of her hair. His cousin is the gun-teacher, Arucard. xD Arucard keeps an eye on him, but Aelmon isn't taking the gunmanship course.
Aelmon is learning to better his wind and fire elemental magics, as well as swordfighting. He's in Kaitos' class for this. He's also uber friendly, and thus very approachable. A lot of the girls, as well as some of the guys, in the IMA school really like him. As in, *SQUEALOHMIGODITSAELMONGLOMPSNOGLOVESHEARTS* xD He can be serious and deadly when called for, so he's not a ditz or anything. =p Just happy. He also loves to glomp people.
He'd probly love Sylphi and Tyde...Just cuz Sylphi looks cool and Tyde is hyper too. xD As for more-than-friends relationships, Aelmon is in his experimental stages. So most likely bi.
Glade is there...for secret purposes. I'd rather not diverge them here so the story can still have some element of surprise. xD I'll just say he was sent there by a superior to scope things out. He's also much older than what he's registered as [18] and he has some knowledge of history that people really aren't supposed to know. Such as some of the things about DD [MAYBE. I'm just throwing this out there right now.] He's been attending IMA and OTI for 3 years, but is classified as a Senior. He's Aelmon's polar opposite in personality, but once made a friend, he is very loyal and protective.
Glade might make friends with Jaes, if for no other reason than that they're both cat-people. Oh, and he's homophobic. Will tolerate, but is extremely uncomfortable around them. Also hates dragons.
Reminder: Despite having the same last name, Aidalis, the alchemist teacher, is NOT related to Sylphi.

if i slip up or say something that is wrong, just correct me, im not too good at idea input... i figured kai grew up in the slums, and was enrolled into the school by a shady figure (unknown?) after he found his powers. im pretty low on ideas for kai, so maybe someone could help me out with some? and i dont want him to be a loner, so maybe he could befriend someone? meh, i dont know.

I can help Kai out. I figured he was in the Tech School as one of the younger students. Angelo took him under his wing, (it's a pun XD) since he too is there on scholarship.
It's just I had this funny sequence of images where Kai was helping Angelo with surgery by holding the cuts open instead of using a spreader and forceps with his mind powers. And then Angelo would say something along the lines, "You did great Kai. If it weren't for you, this patient would have died ten minutes ago instead of 2." "WHAT!?" "Just kidding...he was dead the whole time. Remember? They don't let students perform surgery on REAL patients." "Seriously, you gotta stop doing that to me. It's not funny." This actually won't happen in the actual story...I'm making it a side-comic for fun later. ^^ But in anycase, Angelo keeps an eye on Kai to make sure that his unique powers don't go completely out of control and no one picks on Kai just because he's human. ^_^ (I've got Kai in the bg of some of the pages. ^_^)
@fk: The school is kind of a blend of high school, University and Graduate school. Some of the students (ie: Angelo) are studying medicine which takes about 7 or 8 years (for some races 10-12 years). The schools pander to various students needs. So it's not like any earth school.
@bb: Okay...I was just double checking cuz...er...yeah...in the pages that I drew (yep, I finished pencilling last night!) he's kinda OTI-ish. XD

Well, we're getting plenty of good character development done.
It will be easier to discuss the plot after the Mod Squad finishes the next pages. We tried to make the pages easy to follow-up with a story and introduced or featured almost everyone's character. (That's why crowd scenes rock!)
Also as a reminder, we are keeping the story at a PG-13 level so keep the romance minimal. Yaoi, yuri, shonen-ai etc perpetrates something OVER the PG-13 level.

So all the pages from Round 3 are up...if not colored. ^^; We're working on it. A basic storyline has been set up and established. The first event we're working with is this "War Game". It's sort of like paint-ball and capture the flag. You earn points for "casualties". Two new mystery characters have been set up for the next round for the sake of the next artist.
It might be easiest to move the plot by events such as classes, exams, club meetings, holidays and parties. (other suggestions are welcomed.) Right now, the event is the War Game. We will work with that to reveal some plot before moving onto the next event. (I hope this is making sense).
Events=situations. Situations should move our characters towards their goal. They will probably have to discover several things about the schools and its faculty and themselves.
I hope this is clear and helpful for future plot points. ^^; It really does take a lot of pages to make a plot point sometimes. If you feel like you can't make many pages, just do character development. That's also important.

Thread revival!
In continuation with Modesty's "plot point" idea, each plot point needs a beginning and a middle and an end (just like your regular story). This could be as simple as 1) Boy meets girl 2) Boy steals girl's lunch 3) Girl knock Boy's teeth out and goes off the eat lunch with her friends 4) Boy eats soup through a straw
So, since the War Game is the first plot point, it too needs a resolution. Since Kero and Sable state that the War Game/Icebreaker is to test people's strength (see page 19), there needs to be definite winners. Somehow, our little group of intrepid heroes will have to win the Icebreaker. The winners can include all the students we've introduced so far, or only include a handful (which would probably be better because then we could split the group into smaller groups and pursue different plot points with each group).
The winners of the War Game will then move onto the underground tournaments (also mentioned in page 19). This is a future plot point, but doesn't necessarily need to happen right away.
To make this easier, here are some potential plot points that can be used after the current one is finished: 1) Dorm life (we know that Joy and Sylphi are roomates, as are Aelmon and Starburst) 2) Class (Ms. Silf's health class, Kero's magic class, Sable's mechanics class, Aidalis' class) 3) Cafeteria (Food fight!) 4) Underground tourneys 5) Conspiracy theories (What did Joy and Angelo learn from reading history books on their schools? Why did Sylphi memorize everyone's room numbers? What are Kero and Sable planning? Is blue really Tyde's true hair color? XD) 6) Holidays (base your comic around a holiday like Valentine's day, or make up a holiday)
More plotty discussion is muchly welcome. It's been quiet of late.

I know that Tyde might sorta be expected to be a strong water caster and combatant simply because he's the son of Naria Syndication. He's also already a high ranking semi-professional competitor in water battle tournaments. Naria: Yes, but his summoning technique needs work. Tyde: I summoned a fish with one eye today! Oh! and yeps my hair is blue!
Our group of characters could win due to the other students being washed out to sea XD
Or because their the only group that melded together. Sort of like a squadron where everyone has their tasks and work together for a common goal. Was it stated that the tournament was to test individual strength? If their finding candidates for a war of some sort wouldn't they want groups of people who work well together as a unit?

I think the Icebreaker game should come to a nice wrap up soon. Ending with an evaluation of everyone's ability. (So that everyone knows who can do what in future plot points). For example. Have a database panel for each character. With their class photo, name, strengths and weaknesses. And whether or not they are worthy to go on.
Well they're not really being prepared for war, per se. I suppose that DD's original plan to single out elitists for individual sabatoge could change into making a team of baddies. (Angelo will have a wrestle with his conscience over this one. Angelo: But I will win. I always do when I wrestle with my conscience. I'm good at it.)
I think our next plot point will have to still be a bit more of a set up, "let's get used to the environment" sort of thing. Now that we have been introduced to almost everyone it's time to show something about the school life there.
I think some plot points will be discussion between these new-found friends in classes. Sure it moves the story a bit, but it also clarifies our setting. Right now it's vague. OH how about moving into their living spaces? Star and Aelmon JUST learned they are roomies, let's have some settling in sequences and a school-wide BBQ. Something where it's easier for the characters just to talk and develop.
In short my two ideas: 1) First day of Classes 2) Dormitory BBQ and Move-in/Orientation

I like the idea of "report cards". Reminds me Naruto and the skill cards they had for everyone. This also means someone that we've introduced so far needs to be a spy/evaluator. It would have to be one of the teachers though. Maybe using some magical interesting means of spying.
