New thread by me...how...exciting...
Anyway, it has come to my attention that there are 11 artists now on the team.
Each Round is 1 month.
The problem...Artist J may have to wait 11 months before drawing for a round, thus his/her characters are introduced late and the plot LAGS trying to give time for everyone to join in. This will most likely result in disinterest and artists will drop out. Well, I don't want to lose artists that quickly nor do I want to write out characters. (Because they're all so cool and I"m totally pumped to draw them).
Basically, the ROUND method of turns really is NOT going to work with this many people. I set my expectations too low and was completely surprised by the turn out of aritsts. (Pleasantly surprise. That is why I set low expectations. LOL! ;D) So here is my proposal.
Instead of ONE artist every round we can have teams of artists every round. Since several artists are available for each round it would make sense, right? So, here's how it can work.
Every round, participants list their availability as usual. They also list what they prefer to do. Ie draw pages, colorist, script, etc. A max of 3 artists will be chosen (if there are 3 available) as a TEAM. It will be their job in ONE MONTH to collaborate on pages in anyway they deem fit. This will require good communication. A board will be created for the team to communicate in if that is the best method. (It can be password protected if you wish to keep things private.) Or you can discuss through email, IM or phone. Don't care. It adds a bit more complexity to the project but eh whatever.
For example!
Art A, Art B, and Art C are a team for Round 1. They will discuss their characters, situations, and plot points together over AIM or in their forum. Art A could be the writer, Art B will pencil pages while Art C colors them digitally and emails them to Sass Studios.
OR
Art A, B and C agree to a script of 6 pages total. Each artist will create their two pages.
OR
Art A will work some pages including C's characters, then C will create pages including B's characters.
Etc.
It is up to the team to decide how they want to handle the project. As long as there is a minimum of ONE PAGE by the end of the month.
This way, if you don't feel comfortable with your comic drawing abilities, you can write or something. ;D
Any questions? Comments or Suggestions?
We can start this method in Round 2 unless FaronKaos wants assistants. ;D
