Hiatus?

I have a serious question here before we start round 16. Currently, my life situation has me spread out all over the place. To be honest, I haven't had a lot of time to spare to help keep the forum active and keeping the impromanga moving forward.
It really feels like we're forcing this forward instead of really enjoying it.
So my suggested solution is that we just all take a break for about 2 months. During that time we can flesh out scripts and story for several rounds in the future but not have to worry about pages. We have filler we can use.
Opinions please.

I hate when comics go on 'hiatus'. It seems that frequently when that happens, the artist, (or artists) responsible for the comic go on to other projects and leave a beautiful comic behind. Many a time I've seen a comic (or artist) say they are going on hiatus, only to abandon thier project and never return to it. I truely hope that does not happen here, as I have had the greatest time of my life being a part of a community art project, and I do so hate to think that it is ending. I can understand that life gets hecktic and lost at times, and I know how hard it can be to keep to a regular schedule, but if you have to go on hold, then you have to and there is no avoiding it. You say you have filler art enough to keep the NN page actively updated at least. Have you considered the possibility of letting contributing artists run short (5 to 10 page) mini-chapters and sidestories about thier characters lives (either before they came to the school, why they came to the school, or just something they do at the school that is unrelated to the current story line)? It might give you and BB a break to work on the "real" story and such while still updating the comic and letting us pencil monkeys have a little fun in your world. Just a thought. Anyway, just to recap my feelings: I hate when comics go on 'hiatus' and then never return, but if you must, you must. Just please be sure to come back. Thank you Azaeziel

Oh I plan on returning. It's not part of my work ethic to give up on a project so easily. We've been trying to get the artbook out for a year now. It's just I'm heading into full-swing production of a game for class, trying to secure an internship for the summer, I still have to register to vote, I'm trying to get advising on what to do after I graduate in the fall, I have to come up with a master's thesis soon and I'm working on the Sass Artbook. I can multi-task but only so much. My semester ends in April and I probably won't start my internship until the end of May or early June. Also, bb and I are NOT the only ones responsible for fleshing out the story. We do have editor abilities to say 'No that doesn't flow well' or whatever, but the story should be generated by everyone. So EVERYONE will be working on the main storyline. It should be something everyone enjoys, but if people are losing interest in the story then it's time to work on it a bit. For filler, azzy made a side comic about Ms. Silf that I plan on using. I think other characters might enjoy a little attention too. Mini-chapters is probably what we can do.

*nods* A hiatus sounds sad but understandable. The project shouldn't feel overly rush so it'd be nice to work on fleshing things out.
I have a little side comic on Tyde planned too, so if i find time I may work on that. Plus I have a whole lot of stories for Silf's past in my head <_< I just never seem to get them to paper or type them up.

Thanks for understanding and offering to submit things. azzy, we still have your Ms. Silf Comic which i plan to post up.
I also would suggest maybe putting up some omake (aka gag strips) to illustrate school life. They would just be one pager sort of things...like what we had in the back of the Dark Souls Anthology (if you have a copy. XD)

It would be fun to do a Pookey gag strip. Where Daixx and Tai'kae are little kids, and Tai'kae ends up killing Pookey. >_> <_< I'm not sadistic. Really.

I like az's idea of running short strips on our characters before NN. I certainly wouldn't mind doing something like that. Call it an "interlude" rather than a hiatus and then update with back stories as we can. Focus on one person's character/s at a time and have that person be whoever has the time to be doing pages. Everyone would know about it, and be able to take a little time here and there if they don't have concentrated time (like most of us don't) to finish a short story.

Interlude...what a nice way to put it. Okay... Anyone who makes a strip, either post it here in the forum or email it to me and I can put it up.

I've uploaded azzy's comic on Ms. Silf.
Is anyone else planning on submitting a comic backstory or gag strip?

I will be once I get my life back in order. I already plotted an idea some time ago that I have to finish.
