It does seem like only one day has gone by so far, the way events have gone, doesn't it? I mean, the student being found dead was what forced everyone back to their rooms, and that's where they were when Marron went missing/got kidnapped. So it probably has been only one day.
One thing that I think would be interesting to address a some point as a plot thing, would be why none of the other student in the school think anything weird is going on. I know that the other students aren't the focus of the story, but if you think about it realistically, they have almost all of the same information that our characters do, but we've really only seen them acting like everything is normal where our characters are like "there's some messed up stuff going on around here" (we'll ignore the fact that they've been attacked by no less than two giant robots). Maybe the other students have been brainwashed?

That tends to happen in these kinds of comics, the story takes more precedent over the actual setting. Like Sailor Moon...I think we only see her in class once and everything else just happens AFTER and we just assume she went. Same with Harry Potter, you don't often actually see them IN class unless something storywise is happening. Most of the action takes place outside of the classroom. Harry Potter also pretty much makes all other students think everything is pretty normal OR they're not investigating. But sitting in a classroom and overhearing other students may be something we should do in future pages. The only "class" we had so far was the orientation flashback. XD Plus I think it's only been one or two days. *shrug* A day for the war game and a day for recovering. (To think it took us a year to get through ONE comic day. XD)

I know what -normally- happens... I just thought it might add an interesting plot twist if the minor character either actually did something, or we offered up an explanation as to why the minor characters AREN'T doing anything... ever... in any reality... ^_^

It would be interesting to see that other students are trying to do something, but they are failing, and that's why the comic isn't about them. The main characters are succeeding, thus, they are the focus of the comic. Perhaps the mains could find out something that a background character tried and failed at, but it gives them a clue as to how to do it right?

This is definitely one of the challenges comic stories have that written stories can get away with. Just bringing in background characters for awhile to prove a point is pretty easy in a written sense. Drawing it on the other hand, you have to be very careful about character design. as a rule of thumb, background characters should not look more interesting than the main characters. But in a fantasy comic, everything can't help but look interesting. >_< On the other hand, Az's suggestion might work well for the beginning of another chapter. Chapter beginnings can jump anywhere really. or having a nice smooth transition from on scene to another. This is doubly hard to do in an impromanga since you never know what the previous artist has done until it's actuallly done. XD

The background characters, even if we focus directly on them, don't have to LOOK that interesting. They could be generic faces, even looking almost identical to each other as a gag. We don't even have to give them specific names, and if someone has to address them, we could just put a name-length blur of some kind.
Building on Az's idea, some random background character could ask a teacher/other person about something specific and be unable to get an answer, then someone like, hmm, probably Angelo, could walk up as the background character is leaving and ask the same kind of questions getting the answers he wants immediately.

We have some serious climatic mojo going on now. :3
-Daixx is revealed! He has been reunited with Pookey, a lesser demon that amplifies Daixx's control of minds/spirits.
-Lucius is sinking in quicksand. :3 Lulz
-Angelo and Joy are out looking for Lucius.
-Slyphi has been abandoned. How terrible!
-Kai and Tyde just delivered the box...which contained Pookey.
-Jaes is possessed by Tai and Marron is just there in the crowd.
Some suggested plot points: Rescue Lucius - Lucius can then explain what 'possession' is. He's had more than enough experience.
Kai and Tyde - after delivering the goods, they saw Jaes with Marron and tailed him. Because they had nothing better to do right? XD While tailing Jaes, Kai can explain to Tyde (and the audience) what Pookey is and what he and Angelo did to it. THEN this could lead up to them following Jaes to the assembly and seeing Daixx use Pookey. This prompts them to run off back to the clinic only to find Slyphi left alone.
Daixx, Silf, Tai and Marron - well...erm...it's MADNESS!!!
I like the Tyde and Kai leg. That might be fun. (And it features more characters that do NOT belong to me or bb. I don't like to feel like I'm hogging the limelight.)

Side notes: We should better define what it means to 'possess' for our story. So here are my ideas feel free to add more rules or suggest edits or post your own set of rules..
Modesty's Theories on 'possession' -
1) There are 2 types of possession: dormant and active. Dormant possession is subtle and usually happens while the 'host' is tired, distracted or sleeping. The demon (for lack of better term) resides within the host like a free ride only making nudges to do something. Dormant is how demons learn memories. Active possession is when the demon takes full control of the host. The host loses consciousness at this point.
2) Demons can share with the host and the host can bargain with the demon. Meaning that a host can willingly allow for a possession which binds them in a unique position. The demon can use the hosts powers for himself and the host can use the demon's power. This is a 'shared possession' or 'Consented Possession'.
3) A demon can only possess one host at a time. During possession, the demon's physical body becomes an empty shell (like a patient in a coma). If the body is destroyed the demon can still live on through hosts. If a host dies before the demon can jump to another host, they demon will truly die. A demon loses a bit of spirit every jump he/she makes.
4) After a demon leaves a host, there are after effects. These can include dizziness, dry mouth, explosive diarrhea... j/k Loss of memory is most common. Extreme exhaustion and loss of consciousness or even death if the demon pushes the host to extremes.
5) The demon feels the physical sensations of the host. If you cut the host the demon feels pain. Sometimes torturing the host is used as a method of "exorcising".
6) Eye contact is all that is needed for a demon to enter a host.
7) There are several magical charms and abilities to prevent possession. Having control of your own mind or a strong mind protects from easy entry.
8)(by Shiroikami) The more similar to the possessor (assuming that the possessor is NOT a demon) a host is, the easier it is for the possessor to possess and hold the body.
9)(by bluebug) A demon can only enter a body once. Meaning once the demon has jumped that body, s/he can not return to it.

The more similar to the possessor (assuming that the possessor is NOT a demon) a host is, the easier it is for the possessor to possess and hold the body.
eg. Because Daixx is of elvish decent and male, male, elven bodies are easier for him to gain and control than say, female demonics (I use the term "demonics" loosely to describe types like Miria and Marron). Jaes and Joy, the anielves, while more difficult than tradtional elves, are easier to gain control of than most of the other students by nature of the (implied) shared ancestry.

Good thinking Shiroi.
I think we should get to writing some scripts.
Anyone can feel free to take off from any of the situations we currently have and write dialog. In fact I encourage it. We can have multiple people write versions of the same situation too.
Please post script ideas in the spoiler thread.
Current situations by character: Tyde - with Kai. Kai - with Tyde. They can be virtually anywhere. Lucius - in quicksand Ms Silf - holding a sword to Jaes' neck Afanen - capturing Jaes. Jaes - current host for Tai Tai - possessing Jaes and about to be killed. Marron: stuck between a sibling rivalry. Oh goodie. Joy - with Angelo. Angelo - with Joy. Miria - with Angelo and Joy. They all could be virtually anywhere. Terran - sleeping at the clinic Slyphi - at the clinic...sleeping. Daixx - commanding Pookey.
Please pay attention to what happened in the last few pages.

I've been going over some of this in my mind on how the events so far tie into each other. Some of these events so far seemed so random and unrelated. Slap me silly if it sounds too crazy. But anyways this is what I've come up with to make sense of things:
Kero, Sable, and Dai have been holding their underground tournaments. Why? Though they practically run the school, they can't command all the students to do their bidding... At least not in the open. The tournaments as well as the 'ice breaker' were set up to secretly find students with great potential to recruit to their loyal forces. The 'ice breaker' was also a way to test the ability of already previously recruited candidates who serve Dai. These recruited forces are needed to acquire a demonic artifact that will help restore Dai's power to what it once was and beyond.
This has not gone unnoticed though as another secretive, but small group had been organized among the students to stop Dai's plans. Among these students was the former room-mate of Jaes who was not accidentally killed, but murdered since his membership in this opposing group was discovered. (spy?)
Despite the small and relatively weak opposition, Dai prepares for the delicate operation to obtain the artifact, which only has a small window of time to execute before the window disappears for several years, failure in the attempt though may mean the possibility of having the artifact disappear for good or worse... having himself be totally destroyed.

;D Nice work James. Yes...such is the nature of Impromanga. Sometimes stories don't string together perfectly because one artist translates the situation a certain way and then next artist translates it as something else. You are right, things are kind of strung together oddly and a bit stretched. Then again, we sort of started with only a vague idea of a plot. You know how you can start a story with only a few elements and half-way through you finally figure out the plot!
For the longest time Dai's motives were not really known. I think what we finally came up with does not exactly piece together with the story we had started. But it can work.
Jaes' roommate WAS murdered, but this was something unintentional by Dai. It was a signal that Tai had returned. Perhaps it was his first body...but good call. We have not really talked much about the dead student. (Perhaps the meeting at Silf's house would be a good time for that.)
Daixx has only recently returned to the island schools. Because he was there first, he convinced the merger. The ice breaker was to feel out the abilities of the two schools and particularly gifted students.
If we were to make a timeline. Some time during the summer, Daixx returned to OTI and Sable.
Daixx knew that Tai would be coming back soon as well, so Sable introduced Angelo and Kai, 2 gifted medical students. Those two were given the project to revive Pookey. That takes most of the summer.
Also during the summer, Daixx seduces...I mean convinces Kero to his side (she used to work for Tai). They begin talk of merging the schools and planning the next phase. (Kero totally joins Daixx just because he's cuter. XD Maybe has better benefits...like dental.)
The new fall term starts with the announcement of the merger and ice breaker game. This was to show off to Daixx the talent of some of the students they had thought were special...except for Marron. She was a previously unnoticed student with a unique ability that was ONLY discovered when she accidentally walked in on Daixx and Kero searched her memories.
During the ice breaker or just before it, Tai returns to the island. He recruits students...killing one who did not agree...to track down and destroy the special students that Dai is trying to steal from him. (Thus the random shadow people stalk them).
--- That's at least my take on it. Hope that's a bit more fluid...although, it's not clear in the comic...YET.

Ahh... That's right... Dai is still somewhat new again to the school, he likely wouldn't have many students working for him yet. (But he will! Bwahahaha!) I like your idea for Jaes' room-mate and that can make more sense for now. Tai may have done recon with that body. Not sure who would have killed that body though if Dai didn't mean to and Kero and Sable hadn't done anything about it either. Perhaps those students who pegged Angelo during the icebreaker were among the very few that Dai managed to recruit already and they got suspicious of Tai's host (They were there during summer school since they were slackers! Actually that could explain why they knew Angelo so well too, since Angelo would have stayed over the summer as well, healing Pookie and being even more of a know-it-all by attending extra classes XD). And since there's the two brothers and their unethical ways of using students, I'd still like the idea of a student made group to watch over each other and perhaps try to figure out how to resolve these issues (Our heroes can join or make it to fill in it's ranks). That way we can create a more dramatic and uneasy three way battle.

Ms Silf is the original conspiracy theory student group. ;D That's what's going to start happening during the meeting I think. They are going to start organizing a group. However, although our heroes are talented, that does not mean they are well-known.
This is where we can start getting creative again, like having student organization run festivals.
Tai could have over exerted the body of Jaes' roommate which can be a cause of death.
