The votes are in! We have our three story elements. Now we have to figure out how to mix them into a sort of basic storyline that people can follow.
ELEMENTS >>Highschool >>Demons >>Survival
Continue to discuss plot ideas, environments, events and character options etc.

My Idea
- Rival Schools sent to an island facility to tear each other to pieces. In a Triwizard Championship!! YAAAAY! (>_> I've been playing the Harry Potter GOF video game...sorry).
We can have any number of "teams" on the island. EG: Magic team, Demon team, Modern team. Something like that. Man...those are bad generic examples. >_< Brain...WORK!
Island is supervised by faculty of the various schools. They can change the environment and rules at random, so as no one has any particular advantage.
Also, if you feel that the character you initially submitted is not someone you want involved, you may change it. But you are still only allowed 2 players max. Any cannon fodder provided will be welcomed.
There you go. Feed the idea beast! He hungers!

So it's kinda like Naruto where different teams compete in survival games? And the winners go on some sort of quest or something? Or perhaps they are allowed into the school (ie. the tournament is a qualifying exam?) Perhaps people from different worlds were called to this tournament? And some people ended up there either by accident or unwillingly? So some people have no clue what's going on (kinda like Harry Potter) and others are like, well DUH (Hermoine etc).
I have no idea why I'm making so many Potter references. I've never even read the books >_>

Do we have a general concent for this idea? Is this what artists want? Shall we work out some of the details now? (Like we have been in the suggestion thread)
Gawd...you had to bring up Naruto. I can't decide if I like or dislike that show. The fanbase is batty like Inuyasha fans. But the concept is cool. Although several of the face-offs are DBZ timed. (ie 3 episodes for 3 minutes of time). Anyway...off topic thought here. Don't mind it.
back on topic. Anything in particular you want to happen to the characters? Anything you want to specifically happen to YOUR character? How will we "kill off" other characters if at all? What kind of teams/schools shall we have? How many schools should we have?

Okay, before we start deciding who to 'whack,' why don't we figure out how we're gonna start it first?
-What characters should be involved in the opening pages? All, or just a few? -How will we introduce them? -Which school should get the most attention first?
As for how many schools there are, I say make two or three. Then we need to name them. Personally, I opt for only two.
-Tech/Science School -Magic School -And possibly one set aside for the demons especially. Or we could mix the demons into either school, as they would easily fit. This could add a gothic twist to some parts of the story. Like, say, if someone gets into a relationship...
Of course, each school will have its own clubs. Perhaps, before the Magic & Tech schools have their tourney, the clubs are pitted against eachother in their own school first. Then, the victors from each club participate in the main event.
Make sense?

The idea beast is please with your offering.
First pages and how to start are completely up to the artist. That person will get to pick who starts it out and all that jazz. Start with your characters and interact with any characters you find interesting. Each artist, as they get their round will find a way to introduce their own characters. So, perhaps I'll also put up a character discussion thread so the artists have a better idea of who they're working with. ;D Because obviously, some people will tailor their characters to be more suitable for this scenario.
I like the 2 school idea, magic and tech. The ideas bouncing around in the suggestion forum have been intriguing and I like it. Definitely would like to sneak in some gothic influences.
So going with the listing thing again. XD >>School Names and Specialities >>School details: uniforms/casual, public/private, boarding schools, curriculum, activities, social events (if any), basic rules (like no calculators on your alchemy test). >>Student types: stereotype categories, etc >>Faculty: Who are the teachers? What are they like?
>>Survival Event >Are only a few students selected? Do they volunteer? Does the whole school get involved or Only Seniors? Or only students that meet certain requirements? Are they offered scholarship money perhaps? XD Bloodbath scholarship! XD >Motivation: What is the point of the event? Some sadistic entertainment for faculty? Controlling overpopulation in the school? Money? Perhaps the government wants to close one of the schools and they have to prove superiority. Or is it a "friendly" competition to better the relationship between the two schools?

im up for anything, i dont mind about the storyline at all. so far your ideas sound awesome, i like them ;D i think we sould maybe split it into 2 schools (4 artists, right?) and maybe just have 2 competitors from each school. either that, or a free-for-all where everyone bashes everyone! woo!

Well, there's actually a good deal more than four artists now. ^^; We have nearly 10 now. XD

whoa well, the more the merrier! i had a bit of an idea, maybe there could be all the people on the island due to their schools (fighting schools), but they think it is a form of test when, in actual fact, the share some special gene thingie/ are being experimented on and in the end they realise this, and have to escape. this way you could blend a technical theme into the story, i guess. eventually they realise they have to escape or whatever, this could add another fast paced-part (excuse my really bad english, not to good at expressing myself )

After browsing the submitted characters, I find that most of them are fantasy. So I am wondering if instead of a Tech vs. Magic school, we want to change it up to two versions of magic training or something.
Also note we have only one week before the first round starts. There really is not enough here for the first artist to start on.
There at least needs to be some agreement on the setting. Details as to how they get to the island and why can be worked out later. Details about the schools or school should be worked out first.
>_> I was just struke with the dumb idea of having an Elementary school for elemental magic users. *snickers at her own idea*
Anyway, maybe what I should ask is which school do people want their characters in?

Ya, maybe a tech school would be out. It was great for the time so that others could use it, but it doesn't really look like it's happening. Both my characters will start at the same magic school, but I'm planning on having one of them switch later on (dun dun dunnnnn...).
Oh, I think we should still have other fantasy type schools so we can keep the paladins, fighters, rouges, rangers, etc...

Aw ... I wanted to create a tech character. I think it would offer a lot more variety than just plain magic. Plus if we do a magic school I'll just keep thinking of Harry Potter the entire time How bout this, since the characters are all magic based right now, why don't we start off at the school of magic. There's no need to start the story in the tournament right away (I'm assuming there's a tourney anyway ...). Why don't we start off at the school of magic and establish those base characters. Then the following artists can throw in tech character along the way. In terms of whether demons are a separate school or not, why not have them interspersed in both schools? However, demons, naturally, are rather shunned. So only half-demons or demons who have the ability to hide their demonic side have slipped into the schools, unnoticed. Eventually someone's going to find out there's demons among them. The story can then go various ways ... a "witch hunt", blackmail, or a forbidden love/friendship story etc etc I'd rather leave all the scene details and such to the person starting off the round, but here are some base ideas. Take em or leave em: 1) Scene: It's a magic school, so our setting had best be magical. I vote for a floating island. Those are always cool. So are magical transport beasties ^__^ I'm imagining a huge group of floating islands with random waterfalls from nowhere, lush trees and mountains. A few of the islands are off-limits, like the island of quicksand and the swamp. Which allows for some trouble. There also might be the classic "hermit island" that no one visits cuz anyone who goes there never returns. If there's a tourney, that's likely where the gateway is. 2) Plot: Initially random antics so we get to know the characters and their relationships between each other. But if that's too boring we can just skip to a plot. >_> One of the uber best and brightest student gets summoned to the principal's office and told that he's uber awesome and now must go away and prove his awesomeness. He heads off to the gateway and is followed by several of his classmates. Unfortunately, the gateway is the final test of ability and our "hero" gets attacked by multiple foes. He manages to fend off the offending beasties when he suddenly realizes that he was followed, and his classmates aren't doing too well because they're sub-par, and as such, they're getting hammered. Ah, moral dilemma. Should he save them? Or does he leave them in the dust? Either could happen. If he leaves, somehow his classmates band together in triumphant (and cliched) friendship and manage to get through the gateway before it closes. Anyway, just ideas. If we start off the plot right away it leaves out messy things like how the school is organized XD 3) School uniforms, stereotypes etc. No uniforms, that's boring. But whoever starts can make a school crest! In terms of cliques, I imagine that will fall into place as the story goes along? 4) Tourney. I say the tourney is created so that whoever wins can go on the ultimate quest. Either that or it's a conspiracy to weed out the best and the brightest and kill them. Perhaps it's both. There's got to be more than one person running the tourney. A few people can have a dark, ulterior motive. For example, the techies think that magic people are evil and will ruin the world with their hippy nature and thus they've encouraged the tournament so that they can find the best tech fighters and use them to exterminate the best magic users. Hmmm ... on a random note, I totally have to create my own goth, gun toting half demon crazy dude XD Maybe I should do Dai fifty years from now XD edit: I apologize if I seem like I'm hogging the idea board. -_-; I don't know how much detail is supposed to be worked out beforehand and how much is supposed to be worked out by each individual artist.
